Mangaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged mass burial case in Dharmasthala will conduct the final search operation today at point number 13, the last location marked by the anonymous complainant.

So far, 12 out of 13 spots have been excavated based on the masked man’s directions. Of these, only one set of skeletal remains was recovered. Another set of bones discovered during a separate search was linked to a suspected suicide case from two years ago, not part of the complainant’s allegations.

On Tuesday, two additional grave sites yielded no evidence, adding to the growing uncertainty surrounding the case. Despite the complainant’s earlier claims of over ten bodies being buried, the investigation has yet to uncover supporting evidence at most locations.

With expectations fading and pressure mounting, the SIT, along with officers and the complainant, is set to arrive at the Nethravathi riverbank around 11 am to begin the final phase of the operation. Whether today’s search will validate the claims or conclude the investigation without new findings remains to be seen.
