Mangaluru: The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) staged a protest near Baikampady Cross, demanding urgent repair of the severely damaged roads in the Baikampady Industrial Area, including the main link road connecting to the highway.

Protest Highlights

DYFI District President B.K. Imtiaz criticized elected representatives for neglecting basic infrastructure needs, stating:

“People sacrificed groundwater for industrial development, yet they are forced to fight for basic amenities. If repairs are not carried out within 15 days, we will mobilize the public and lay siege to the KIADB office.”

DYFI District Secretary Santosh Bajal further demanded that police file cases against negligent officials if accidents occur due to potholes.
