Mangaluru: Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, in association with the Indian Homoeopathic Medical Association (IHMA) and the Father Muller Research Centre (FMRC), successfully organised EVIDENCIA 2026, a workshop on the Multicentric Homoeopathic Research Initiative, at the A.V. Hall, Knowledge Centre, Father Muller Charitable Institutions, Kankanady.
The workshop was conducted as part of the Ruby Jubilee celebrations of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital and aimed at promoting evidence-based homoeopathic research among practitioners, academicians, and researchers.
Focus on scientific evidence in homoeopathy
Welcoming the gathering, Dr. E.S.J. Prabhu Kiran, Principal of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, greeted the dignitaries and participants while highlighting the significance of research in strengthening homoeopathic practice.
The programme was attended by Dr. Sanjeeva Rai, former Dean of Father Muller Medical College and the first Chief of Research at Father Muller Research Centre; Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions; Rev. Fr. Nilesh Donald Crasta, Administrator of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital; Dr. Girish Navada, Medical Superintendent; Dr. Vilma Meera D’Souza, Vice-Principal; Dr. Prasanna Kumar, President of IHMA Mangaluru Chapter; and Dr. Ajinas, Convenor of the workshop.
Importance of collaborative research highlighted
Inaugurating the workshop, Dr. Sanjeeva Rai emphasised the need for scientific research and systematic clinical documentation to enhance the credibility and acceptance of homoeopathy.
He encouraged practitioners to actively participate in collaborative multicentric research initiatives that contribute to the generation of quality scientific evidence and strengthen evidence-based healthcare practices.
Presiding over the programme, Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo reiterated the institution’s commitment to promoting research, innovation, and academic excellence while continuing its mission of quality healthcare and education.
Expert sessions provide practical guidance
The workshop featured a series of expert sessions designed to equip participants with essential research skills.
Dr. Shivashankara, Principal of Father Muller College of Allied Health Sciences, spoke on identifying relevant research topics and exploring opportunities for collaborative studies.
Dr. Sudheer Prabhu, Professor and Head of the Department of Community Medicine, discussed the importance of disseminating research findings through scientific publications and presentations.
Dr. Skandan S. Kumar, Associate Professor at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, elaborated on policy aspects and frameworks that support research initiatives.
The resource persons provided practical insights into research methodology, study design, data collection, statistical analysis, ethical considerations, and scientific writing.
Encouraging multicentric studies
The workshop witnessed active participation from homoeopathic practitioners, AYUSH professionals, researchers, academicians, and delegates who attended both physically and through online live streaming.
Interactive sessions encouraged private practitioners to systematically document their clinical experiences and contribute to multicentric research studies under the institution’s Ruby Jubilee Research Initiative.
Organisers stated that EVIDENCIA 2026 represents an important step towards generating robust scientific evidence in homoeopathy while promoting evidence-based clinical practice through collaborative research efforts.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Ajinas, who reaffirmed the collective commitment of researchers and practitioners towards advancing homoeopathic research and strengthening scientific inquiry within the profession.
