Beltangady: A car carrying four members of a family from Kolar district overturned after the driver reportedly lost control near the service station turn close to the Netravathi bathing ghat in Dharmasthala village on Monday night, September 14.
The accident occurred at around 9.30 pm when the family was travelling towards Ujire in a Toyota Etios after visiting the Dharmasthala temple.
According to the information available, the car overturned near the turn beside the service station at Netravathi, causing injuries to three occupants.
Three injured in accident
The injured persons, including the car driver Shashikumar, sustained injuries to their hands and legs in the accident.
Following the incident, the injured were shifted to a private hospital in Ujire for treatment. The available information did not indicate any serious or life-threatening injuries.
The family had reportedly travelled to Dharmasthala for a visit to the temple and was returning towards Ujire when the accident took place.
The exact circumstances that led to the driver losing control of the vehicle are yet to be established.
Traffic police inspect accident spot
Beltangady traffic police visited the spot following the accident and conducted an inspection.
The police are expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the accident, including the vehicle’s movement and the road conditions at the location.
