Sunanda Achyuta Poojari, a guest lecturer at Madavu Junior College in Puttur, tragically passed away from severe injuries sustained in a bike accident six days ago. The accident occurred at Menala in Eshwaramangala, and she had been receiving treatment at a hospital in Mangaluru.
A resident of Veeramangala in Sullia, Sunanda was the wife of Dr. Achyuta Poojari, a lecturer at Kamaje Government PU College in Bantwal. The accident happened while she was on her way to visit her family’s Tharavadu house in Menala with a relative.
During their journey, it started to rain, and Sunanda opened her umbrella. However, a strong gust of wind blew the umbrella away, causing her to lose balance and fall from the bike. She suffered severe head injuries as a result.
Her death has deeply saddened the community, particularly her students and colleagues.
