Mangaluru: The Gulf Retirees Association – Mangaluru held its annual general body meeting on July 29 at the Jamiatul Falah Auditorium, Kankanady, under the leadership of Hamza Muttur.

The meeting commenced with a warm welcome by joint secretary Yusuf Aladka, followed by the annual report presented by secretary Jamaluddin. Treasurer Abdul Khader Bava shared the financial summary.

The gathering was honored by the presence of Tayyub Salmar and KKMA representatives Ayub, Iqbal, and Rehman Khan.

During the session, the association unanimously elected its new leadership team for the 2025–27 term:

  • Honorary President: Hamza Muttur

  • President: Sahul Hameed Thangal

  • Secretary: Melwyn Lobo

  • Vice Presidents: Adam Bairy, Mohammed Hussain Araki, Abdul Hameed Uchchil

  • Treasurer: Abdul Khader Bava

  • Joint Secretary: Yusuf Aladka

  • Executive Committee Members: Preetesh Kumar, Basheer Ahmad, Ibrahim Jogibettu, Ismail Sharif, Abdul Razak Muttikal

    • Mohammed Bairy from Bollai served as chief advisor and was present during the proceedings. The event was professionally compered by Yusuf Aladka, who also extended the vote of thanks.

    The meeting reflected the association’s continued commitment to fostering community bonds among Gulf returnees and promoting mutual support.
