Over 650 youth delegates from 20 Indian states and several international nations will take part in Icon Youth 2025 – an International Youth Conference, jointly organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and Yenepoya (Deemed to be University). The two-day conference, slated for Thursday and Friday, aims to be a dynamic platform for young minds to engage with entrepreneurs, achievers, policy-makers, and leaders from both public and private spheres.
Dr Ashwini Shetty, the event’s organising secretary, stated that the core objective is to foster transformative dialogue and leadership development among youth, facilitating interaction across cultural and geographic boundaries. Delegates will come from states including Karnataka, Kerala, Assam, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Punjab, along with representatives from Nigeria, Nepal, and Tibet. Distinguished speakers from Sri Lanka, Russia, Thailand, and Nigeria are expected to share their insights.
The event promotes cross-cultural knowledge exchange, while enhancing youth capabilities in entrepreneurship, policy formation, digital innovation, and sustainable development under the theme of building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).
A highlight of the event will be an ‘Ideathon for Transformative Startups’, featuring a poster exhibition with 145 students presenting innovation-driven ideas. The conference will host 18 eminent speakers and 4 moderators, steering discussions across crucial topics like Youth and Innovation, Women in Development, Youth in Space Science, Sustainability, and Digital Empowerment.
Dr Sara Jyl Salmi, Director of International Cooperation at the Youth Ministry, will officially inaugurate the event.
