Mangaluru: To ease the surge in travel during the Independence Day holidays, Southern Railway has introduced special bi-weekly express trains connecting Mangaluru Junction and Thiruvananthapuram North.
As per a release from the zonal railway, Train No. 06041 Mangaluru Jn – Thiruvananthapuram North Special Express will depart from Mangaluru Junction at 7:30 PM on August 14 and 16 (Wednesday and Friday), reaching its destination at 8:00 AM the following day.
The return service, Train No. 06042, will start from Thiruvananthapuram North at 5:15 PM on August 15 and 17, arriving at Mangaluru Junction by 6:30 AM the next morning.
These special trains will include:

1 AC Two-Tier Coach
2 AC Three-Tier Coaches
17 Sleeper Class Coaches
2 Second Class Luggage-cum-Brake Vans
The trains will halt at several key stations en route, including Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Payyanur, Kannur, Thalassery, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam, Cherthala, Alappuzha, Ambalapuzha, Haripad, Kayamkulam, Sasthankotta, and Kollam.
Passengers are encouraged to make advance bookings to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
