An inclusive Iftar meet was recently hosted by Mother Teresa Vichara Vedika in association with Al Qaswa Friends, Mangaluru, with the goal of fostering communal amity and deepening inter-religious ties. The gathering brought together people from varied walks of life, creating a vibrant atmosphere of togetherness.

Al Qaswa Friends, known for their unwavering dedication to social service, have consistently provided free aid to underprivileged families. Their efforts, especially during Ramadan, ensure that hardworking individuals and families who cannot afford a proper Iftar receive support. Initiatives like these underline their mission — that no one should go hungry during the holy month.

The event took place at the Sahakari Sadan Complex, near Rao and Rao Circle in Mangaluru. Several notable personalities graced the occasion, including Nazeer (President, Al Qaswa Friends), Roy Castellino (President, Mother Teresa Vichara Vedika), Fr. Sudeep Paul (Director, Sandesha), Alwyn D’Souza (President, Catholic Sabha), Eric Lobo (Educationist), B.N. Devadiga (Senior member, Mother Teresa Vichara Vedika), Sr. Arpitha (Headmistress, Jerosa School), and trade union leader H.V. Rao.

D.K. Imtiyaz, who coordinated the initiative on behalf of Al Qaswa Friends, addressed the gathering, underlining the role of such events in nurturing unity. Fr. Sudeep Paul stressed that genuine dialogue is always rooted in humility and respect. Roy Castellino lauded the initiative for bridging communities, while H.V. Rao reminded everyone that no faith advocates hatred.

The event concluded with the sharing of Iftar, creating an uplifting spirit of harmony and solidarity.
