As part of the month-long Karavali Utsava, the highly anticipated beach festival is set to dazzle visitors at Tannirbavi Beach on January 11 and 12. Commissioner of Police and festival committee president Anupam Agrawal announced an exciting lineup of music and dance performances for the event.
On January 11, attendees can enjoy a live concert by Manikanth Kadri and a vibrant Nrityotsava by the Manjari team. The festivities on January 12 will feature a soulful concert by Raghu Dixit at 7:30 p.m., alongside yoga sessions by Patanjali Yoga Shikshana Prathishtana at 5:30 a.m., Udayaraga at 6:30 a.m., and a sand art competition starting at 9:30 a.m.
Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan M.P. emphasized the festival’s goal of promoting Mangaluru as a hub for water sports like surfing and sailing. The Coastal Karnataka Sailing Club will showcase yachting, adding to the allure of the festival. National Youth Day celebrations on January 12 will also feature special events, with Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader as the chief guest for the festival’s conclusion.
Security measures include teams comprising lifeguards, coastal security police, the Coast Guard, and local fishermen. Certain areas of the beach will be barricaded, and water sports will conclude by 6:30 p.m. The Mangaluru City Corporation has ensured a clean and safe environment with pre-festival cleanliness drives.
Karavali Utsava has already witnessed a massive turnout, with 12,000 visitors at the festival grounds and 3,500 at Kadri Park on January 5 alone.
