An incident involving the discarded Karnataka flag featuring the image of late actor Puneeth Rajkumar has ignited widespread outrage. The flag, which holds deep emotional significance for many, was reportedly found thrown away in a waste bin following an event at Townhall on March 17. The program, held to commemorate Puneeth Rajkumar’s 50th birth anniversary, was organized by the Doddamane Appu Yuva Sene, Mangaluru, on the day observed as ‘Inspiration Day’ in honor of the actor’s legacy.

The discovery of the flag in the trash has been viewed by many as highly disrespectful to Puneeth Rajkumar’s memory. Public backlash has mounted, with many citizens expressing their anger over what they perceive as an insult to the late actor, and a disregard for the sanctity of cultural symbols like the Karnataka flag.

To compound the issue, reports indicate that the waste containing the discarded flag was not cleared for three days, further fueling public frustration and calls for accountability. The incident has raised questions about the handling of such symbols and the need for greater respect for public sentiments.
