Mangaluru: KMC Hospital, Attavar, has been awarded accreditation under the 6th Edition Standards of the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH), reaffirming its commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence and quality healthcare.
The accreditation, granted by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH), a constituent board of the Quality Council of India, recognises the hospital’s continued adherence to stringent national quality standards across its 610 sanctioned beds.
KMC Hospital, Attavar, was first accredited by NABH in 2022 and has now successfully transitioned to the more comprehensive and rigorous 6th Edition standards.
Accreditation certificate presented at MAHE
The NABH Certificate of Accreditation was formally presented during a ceremony held at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE).
The certificate was handed over to Dr. Chakrapani, Medical Superintendent of KMC Hospital, Attavar, along with members of the hospital’s senior leadership team by Dr. H.S. Ballal, Pro Chancellor, MAHE; Dr. Sharath K. Rao, Vice Chancellor, MAHE; Major General (Dr.) Mathews Jacob, VSM, Pro Vice Chancellor – Health Sciences, MAHE; and Dr. Christopher Sudhakar, Director of Quality, MAHE.
Several senior officials and dignitaries from MAHE attended the ceremony to celebrate the hospital’s achievement.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Chakrapani said the accreditation was the outcome of months of dedicated teamwork involving every department of the hospital.
He acknowledged the contributions of doctors, nurses, infection control teams, administrative staff and support services in successfully meeting the rigorous benchmarks prescribed under the NABH 6th Edition standards.
He said the recognition strengthens the hospital’s commitment to continually enhancing patient safety, clinical excellence and quality healthcare delivery.

Dr. Sudhakar Kantipudi, Chief Operating Officer of MAHE Teaching Hospitals, described the accreditation as a proud milestone for both KMC Hospital, Attavar, and the entire MAHE Teaching Hospitals network.
