In a major operation, Lokayukta officials conducted simultaneous raids on the residence and office of Survey Superintendent Manjunath in Mangaluru on Wednesday morning, May 15.

The raid began early at Manjunath’s three-storey residence in 8th Cross, Bejai, where officials arrived in three vehicles. Key documents were reportedly seized during the operation, although details of the findings remain undisclosed.

Manjunath, a senior official, has been serving in the Dakshina Kannada district for over 23 years. Originally from Tumkur, he is believed to be under investigation for alleged irregularities linked to his long-standing tenure in the Survey Department.

The raid extended to his office premises as well, signaling a broader probe into his administrative conduct. Sources suggest that the operation is part of a larger crackdown by the Karnataka Lokayukta targeting government officials suspected of misconduct, accumulation of disproportionate assets, or procedural violations.

The Lokayukta’s action has created a stir within government circles in Mangaluru, with further developments expected following the scrutiny of the confiscated documents.

As the investigation progresses, more clarity is anticipated on the nature of allegations and whether others are involved.
