Mangaluru: In a heartwarming turn of events, the Lok Adalat held at the Mangaluru Family Court today helped reunite a separated couple after resolving their long-standing marital differences. The session was presided over by Chief Family Court Judge Lakshminarayana Bhat K and Court Member Mrs. K.S. Gowri.

Hanumant Hoogar of Kavoor and Savitri Hoogar of Bijai, married for 16 years and parents to two children, had been living apart due to personal disputes. In an effort to reconcile, Hanumant filed a petition seeking permission to live together again.

Advocate Anisha D’Souza represented Hanumant, while Advocate Dinakar Shetty appeared for Savitri. Also present was Mrs. Jaibunnissa, Chairperson of the Legal Services Authority, who provided thoughtful guidance on the importance of communication, forgiveness, and cooperation in sustaining family life.

After counseling and empathetic advice from the bench and legal panel, the couple chose reconciliation over separation. Moved by the support and clarity offered, they agreed to reunite and raise their children together with renewed understanding.

In a symbolic gesture of reunion, they exchanged garlands in the presence of the court, reaffirming their commitment to a harmonious future.

This event reflects the human side of the judicial system, showing how Lok Adalats can go beyond legal solutions to restore families and rebuild lives.
