The Madhur Sri Madanantheswara Siddi Vinayaka Temple in Kasaragod, a renowned spiritual center in North Kerala, is preparing for the grand Brahmakalashotsava festival. Devotees from Dakshina Kannada will participate by offering a ‘hore kanike’ (ritual contribution) to the temple.
Vice President of the Brahmakalashotsava Committee, Madhusoodhana Ayar, announced that the hore kanike procession will commence from Sharavu Mahaganapathi Temple, Hampankatta, on March 27. The temple, which underwent renovation at a cost of ₹24 crore, has scheduled religious and cultural events worth ₹10 crore for the festival, expected to draw over 1.5 lakh devotees between March 27 and April 7.
The 13-year-long renovation project, overseen by a committee under the Malabar Devaswom Board, included the restoration of the main temple, construction of shrines for other deities, an entrance arch, a dining hall, a seva counter, and improvements to the moolasthana (sanctum).
To accommodate devotees, vehicle parking will be arranged at Madhur, Kolya, Kolya Erikkala, and Chenakodu. Free ‘anna prasada’ will be served in the afternoon and evening.
The inaugural ceremony on March 26 will be presided over by Dr. BS Rao, with blessings from esteemed spiritual leaders including Sri Sachidananda Bharati Swami, Sri Gurudevananda Swami, Sri Mohandas Paramahamsa Swami, and Sri Yogananda Saraswathi Swami.
