In a dramatic rescue operation, fire and emergency services personnel, along with Kadaba police, saved a man who reportedly jumped into the Kumaradhara River and became stuck in the bushes at Pulikkukku, Kodimbala village in Dakshina Kannada district. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, and the rescue was completed on Monday.
The rescued individual, identified as Ravi Kumar, is a native of Andhra Pradesh who currently works in Bengaluru. According to police reports, financial stress may have driven him to attempt suicide. Ravi told the police that he traveled from Bengaluru to the river site and jumped into the water at around 5 PM on Sunday. Fortunately, locals heard his cries for help and immediately informed the authorities.
Upon arrival, the fire and emergency services team, alongside Kadaba police, quickly located Ravi and managed to extract him from the bushes where he had become entangled. He sustained injuries to his hand and was promptly taken to a hospital for treatment. His current condition is stable, and he is receiving the necessary medical care.
This incident highlights the importance of mental health awareness and the need for community support systems to assist those experiencing financial or emotional distress.
