Mangaluru: Bharat Beedi Works Private Limited, one of India’s leading beedi manufacturers, commemorated its 95th foundation day at its headquarters on Kadri Road in the city. The event paid tribute to the company’s legacy, its employees’ dedication, and the partnerships that have fuelled its long-standing success.
A legacy of nearly a century
The ceremony began with a warm welcome from Executive Director Anand G. Pai. Subraya M. Pai, also an Executive Director, reflected on the company’s remarkable journey over nine decades. He expressed deep appreciation for the stakeholders who have stood by the firm since its inception.
Founded in 1930, Bharat Beedi has grown into a trusted manufacturer producing over 30 brands of beedis. The foundation day was an opportunity to reflect on this journey and reinforce the company’s commitment to its workers and partners.
Leadership and recognition
Executive Directors Nagendra D. Pai and Venkatesh M. Pai, along with International Business Relations Officer Abhishek N. Pai, graced the stage during the event. Sudhir M. Pai, another Executive Director, concluded the function with a heartfelt vote of thanks.
The celebration was also a moment to recognise and felicitate officers from various departments who have given decades of service to the company. Notably, Vasudeva S. Pai, Secretary of the company, was honoured, and various bank representatives attending the event also shared their impressions of the company’s ethos and operations.

Agents from multiple states participated in the programme, underlining the extensive reach and network of Bharat Beedi Works. CA Shivananda Pai, the company’s auditor, compered the programme, adding a professional touch to the proceedings.
