Mangaluru: The Nanthoor community is grieving the loss of K. Kamalaksha, a dedicated public servant, who passed away at the age of 60 after a brief illness at Government Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru this morning. He is survived by his mother, wife, daughter, and many relatives and friends who held him in high regard.
Kamalaksha devoted over 30 years of his life to the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP), where he served with distinction in the 7th Battalion based in Assaigoli, Mangaluru. Starting his career in law enforcement in 1994, Kamalaksha’s commitment to public service led to his promotion to Assistant Reserve Sub-Inspector (ARSI). He retired in November 2024, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and dedication to his duty.
Throughout his career, Kamalaksha was recognized for his exemplary service, including being awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service on Republic Day in 2018, highlighting his contributions to law enforcement and community safety.
The final rites for Kamalaksha were held at 2:00 PM today at Shaktinagar Crematorium, with family, friends, and colleagues gathering to pay their last respects. His passing is a significant loss to his family and the Mangaluru community, where he was highly respected for his integrity and dedication to public safety.
