The district administration in Mangaluru has urged the public to assist in controlling the spread of dengue by capturing and sharing images of mosquito breeding sites. Residents are encouraged to send these images, along with the corresponding addresses, via WhatsApp to the heads of their respective taluk panchayats and urban local bodies (ULBs). This initiative follows a recent surge in dengue cases in Mangaluru and other parts of Dakshina Kannada (DK).

Officials from gram panchayats, taluk panchayats, town panchayats, municipalities, and the city corporation have been instructed to inspect larvae breeding sites and raise public awareness about dengue prevention. The administration aims to leverage community participation to identify and eliminate potential mosquito breeding areas swiftly.

Residents of Mangaluru city can share photos directly with the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) control room at 9449007722. Additionally, they can contact health supervisors at 9743219627, 9482250909, 9742567033, and 8618794892. By involving the community, the administration hopes to take prompt and effective action against mosquito breeding and reduce the incidence of dengue.

Public cooperation is crucial in this effort to prevent the spread of dengue. The administration’s proactive approach seeks to engage citizens in health and safety measures, ensuring a coordinated response to the dengue threat.
