Mangaluru: In a recent crackdown, several hotels were penalized for not adhering to waste segregation rules set by the local civic body. The enforcement team conducted surprise inspections and identified multiple establishments flouting solid waste management norms.
Among those penalized were:

Hotel Durga Prasad, located near Urwa Market
Hotel Ginger in Kottara
Hotel Ginger House at Bandary Heights
SLK Bar and Restaurant in Chowki
Each of these establishments was slapped with a fine of ₹5,000 for failing to separate waste at the source, a clear violation of municipal guidelines.
Officials emphasized that waste segregation is not optional but a critical component of sustainable urban living. Authorities have issued a stern warning, stating that repeat violations will attract stricter penalties, including temporary closure or legal action.
This move aims to reinforce responsible waste handling and improve overall cleanliness in the city.
