Ullal: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested Dawood (43), a notorious rowdy-sheeter, during an operation on Talapady-Devipura Road. Dawood, a resident of Dharmanagar, Ullal, has a history of crimes, including murder and illegal activities across Ullal, Mangaluru South, and Bajpe.
Attack During Operation
Acting on a tip-off, a CCB team led by PSI Narendra intercepted Dawood while he was reportedly planning an attack on rival gang members. During the arrest attempt, Dawood resisted and attacked the officers with a machete, injuring PSI Narendra and other team members. Despite the attack, the police successfully apprehended him.
Legal Action
A case has been registered against Dawood at the Ullal Police Station under several sections, including:
- Section 352 (assault or use of criminal force),
- Section 109(1) (abetment of an offence),
- Sections 121(1) & 121(2) (conspiracy against the state),
- Section 115(2) (abetment of an offence punishable with death or imprisonment for life),
- Section 132 (abetment of mutiny),
- Section 3(5) (prevention of unlawful activities),
- Section 351(1) (assault).
Dawood is now in police custody, and further investigation into his criminal activities is underway.
