In a groundbreaking move, Mangaluru City Police have introduced the Bandobast App and Dashboard, a cutting-edge digital platform designed to modernize security planning and event management. Likely the first of its kind in Karnataka, the system streamlines everything from event permissions to live monitoring and post-event analysis, ensuring a more structured and efficient policing approach.

DCP (Law & Order) Sidharth Goyal highlighted that the app integrates all aspects of event security—approvals, manpower deployment, inter-department coordination, live updates, and data-driven post-event reporting—into a single smart platform. “It accelerates operations, enhances documentation, and ensures officers are optimally deployed with the right resources,” he stated.

Conceptualized by Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal, the app addresses a long-standing challenge—the lack of institutional memory in managing recurring events like Dasara. Developed under DCP Goyal in collaboration with Sahyadri College of Engineering, the project team included assistant professor Harisha (CSE) and InUnity developers Preetham, Sharath Naik, Sushant Wagmare, and Vinutha K.

The initiative has gained national recognition, winning the FICCI Smart Policing Award 2025 in the Smart Police Station category at the 8th Annual Homeland Security Conference in Delhi, selected from 128 entries across India.

Equipped with AI and analytics, the app offers real-time tracking, data insights, and digital records, eliminating the need for outdated manual coordination. Already handling 40-45 events weekly, this innovation is set to expand across Karnataka, transforming police event management statewide.
