A shocking case of police negligence has emerged in Mangaluru, where officers organized a tour with two cybercriminals responsible for scamming over Rs 30 crore! In an even more outrageous turn of events, the accused even conducted a cybercrime awareness workshop for law students, drawing widespread criticism and public outrage.
The accused, Rajkumar Meena (23) and Subhash Gurjar (27), exploited Amazon’s policies to scam millions by purchasing high-value items and feigning payment. Their criminal activities spanned over 10 states, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, and Karnataka. The fraud was uncovered when Mahindra Logistics filed a complaint, leading to their arrest by Urwa police. Rajkumar was captured in Salem, Tamil Nadu, while Subhash was arrested in Rajasthan. Despite their extensive criminal record, both criminals were able to travel freely across the country by air.
In an even more perplexing twist, four Urwa police officers flew to Gujarat at the accused’s expense to continue the investigation. The officers not only traveled with the criminals but also reportedly indulged in sightseeing during the trip.
After their arrest, the criminals were granted luxury accommodations at the Urwa police station instead of being sent to jail. They were even allowed to order food from hotels while in police custody.
The most outrageous part came when the accused, responsible for such a massive cyber scam, held a cybercrime awareness workshop for over 30 law students at the Urwa police station. This bizarre and controversial handling of the case has raised serious concerns and sparked intense public outrage.
