Mangaluru: The Mangalore Roller Skating Club has brought laurels to the city by winning five gold medals at the CBSE South Zone Speed Skating Championship held at Palakkad, Kerala, from 22 to 24 August 2025.

The event, hosted by Vyasa Vidya Peethom School, saw participation from more than 800 skaters representing Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra, and Karnataka.

Medal winners and performance highlights

Among the top performers, Yuvaraj D Kundar stood out with two gold medals, while Tasmayi Shetty, Krithi S Aithal and Shresta P Shenoy bagged one gold medal each.

This impressive tally has secured all four skaters a place in the upcoming CBSE National Skating Championship, scheduled to be held in New Delhi in October.

Training and support

The athletes attributed their success to rigorous training under the guidance of coaches Mahesh Kumar and Shravan, who have been instrumental in shaping the club’s young talent.
