Mangaluru: Traffic to be diverted for Dasara celebrations

Traffic in Mangaluru city will be affected from 4 p.m. on October 2 till 6 a.m. on October 3 as part of the Mangaluru Dasara procession of Navadurga and Sharada Mata idols from Kudroli Gokarnateshwara temple.

According to a press release by the city police, the procession will begin at Kudroli temple and pass through major routes including Mannagudda Circle, Narayana Guru Circle, Ballalbagh, P.V.S. Junction, Navabharath Circle, City Centre Mall, Hampankatta, K.B. Katte, Saffron Hotel, Car Street, Balaji Junction, New Chitra Junction, and Alake Bridge before culminating back at the temple.

Police advisory for motorists

Police have advised motorists to avoid the procession route and instead use alternate roads during the event. Additionally, no vehicles will be allowed to be parked along the procession path.

Parking arrangements for visitors

To accommodate devotees and spectators, the following parking spaces have been designated:

  • Alake Market
  • Urwa Market
  • Canara Schools (Urwa and Dongarkeri)
  • Pompai Church
  • Durga Mahal Hotel
  • Kudroli Narayana Guru College
  • BEM School
  • Government PU College for Girls, Car Street
  • Hotel Vimalesh
