Mangaluru: VK Furniture & Electronics has announced the 4th edition of its Online Independence Day Fancy Dress Competition 2025, inviting children from across Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, and Kasaragod districts to celebrate patriotism with creativity.

Categories and themes

This year’s theme is to dress children as freedom fighters and capture their photos or videos accordingly. The competition is split into three age categories:

  • Kids (2 to 5 years): Photo-only entry

  • Sub-Junior (6 to 10 years): Video with a patriotic song

  • Junior (11 to 14 years): Video with a patriotic speech

    • The speech must be at least 2 minutes, while songs should run a minimum of 3 minutes. Submissions can be made in English, Hindi, or Kannada.

    Prizes and certificates

    Attractive prizes await the top three winners in each category:

    • 1st Prize: Bicycle or Study Table

  • 2nd Prize: Study Table with Book Shelf or Piano Keyboard

  • 3rd Prize: Book Shelf

  • Additionally, five best performance prizes will be awarded in each category.

    • All participants will receive online participation certificates, and winners will be honoured with medals and certificates.

    Submission guidelines

    The last date for entry submission is 16th August 2025. Parents must ensure the photo or video includes date/time/location stamps, enabled via GPS timer or camera settings. Participants should send:

    • At least two-angle photos

  • One video (if applicable)

    • Entries should be submitted via WhatsApp to any of the following numbers:

    • Child’s name, age, photo

  • Address, contact number

  • School name, class, and place
