Mangaluru: Reshel Bretny Fernandes, a talented and spirited writer and speaker from Mangaluru, has been conferred the National Icon Award 2025 – Season 9 in recognition of her outstanding contributions at global, national, and local levels.
Fernandes, celebrated for her articulate expression and social awareness, has penned four powerful books addressing critical issues of modern times. Her literary efforts have garnered widespread acclaim, including appreciation from prominent public figures. Her work has even reached top government offices, such as those of the Prime Minister, President of India, and the Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
Acknowledging her influence and voice in contemporary discourse, the Bhartiya Yuva Welfare Foundation, New Delhi, along with support from the Ministry of Tourism (J&K), Ministry of Defence, and other allied departments, selected Fernandes for this esteemed recognition.
The award ceremony was hosted at the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya Auditorium in New Delhi. Organised in collaboration with Bharat News and several prominent media outlets, the event was marked by the presence of union ministers, senior officials, and respected dignitaries. The award was officially presented by Raghuraj Singh, MLA and minister from Uttar Pradesh.
Reshel’s achievement shines as a symbol of youth-driven impact in the fields of literature and public thought, marking a proud moment for Mangaluru and inspiring voices across the country.
