Mangaluru, June 24, 2024: A Maruti Vitara parked in the car porch of a residential building in Bondel was completely gutted in a fire mishap late Sunday night. The incident occurred around 11:30 PM, causing significant damage but fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Passersby noticed the blaze and immediately alerted the local residents. Fire tender vehicles promptly arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the flames. Despite their quick response, the fire had already engulfed the car, reducing it to a charred frame. The car porch, situated in the basement of a three-storied building, also sustained substantial damage. The intense heat and flames partially damaged the entrance of the building, adding to the overall destruction caused by the fire.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities are investigating to determine what sparked the blaze. Residents expressed relief that no one was injured, as the potential for a more severe outcome was high given the location of the fire in the basement area of the building.

This incident has raised concerns among the locals about fire safety measures and the importance of having functional fire extinguishers readily available in residential complexes. The authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or potential fire hazards to prevent such incidents in the future.
