Moodbidri: A 34-year-old contractor who had been missing since Thursday was found dead near his residence at Bangerabettu, close to Ashraya Colony in Alangaru, on Saturday. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation, while the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem examination.
Body found near residence
The deceased has been identified as Karthik Shetty (34), an unmarried contractor engaged in Hitachi and JCB contracting work.
According to police, Karthik had been missing since Thursday. His body was discovered on Saturday near his residence at Bangerabettu, prompting local residents to alert the authorities.
Police personnel reached the spot soon after receiving information and conducted a preliminary inspection of the scene.
Heart attack suspected
During the initial investigation, police indicated that Karthik may have died due to a heart attack. However, officials clarified that the exact cause of death can only be determined after the post-mortem examination report is received.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, and further findings will depend on the medical examination.
