Mangaluru: The Karnataka State Legal Services Authority will hold the National Lok Adalat on Friday, July 12, providing citizens with an effective platform for speedy resolution of various legal disputes.
As per the guidelines of the National and State Legal Services Authorities, this Adalat will take place across the courts of Mangaluru, Bantwal, Belthangady, Puttur, Moodbidri, and Sullia in Dakshina Kannada district.
This initiative offers a valuable chance for the public to resolve both pre-litigation matters and pending court cases through mutual settlement and conciliation.
The types of cases eligible for resolution include:

Motor accident compensation cases
Cheque bounce and bank loan recovery disputes
Illegal sand transport violations
Labour and compensation-related disputes
Matrimonial and maintenance issues (excluding divorce)
Consumer grievances
Land acquisition and related compensation matters
Electricity/water bill disputes
Government service-related cases involving salary, pension, or benefits
Civil and criminal disputes permissible under reconciliation laws
Presiding judges, along with officials from relevant departments, will assist both parties in reaching an amicable agreement.
If a case is resolved through Lok Adalat, the entire court fee will be refunded, and the settlement order cannot be appealed, making it a quick, cost-effective, and stress-free process.
This effort was announced during a press briefing by Senior Civil Judges Mr. Basavaraj and Ms. Jaibunnisa, Member Secretaries of the District Legal Services Authority, Mangaluru.
