Under the directive of the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, Bengaluru, National Lok Adalats were simultaneously organized in Udupi, Kundapura, and Karkala, successfully resolving a total of 88,925 cases in a single day. The breakdown of resolved cases included 37 criminal cases, 304 petty cases, 22 bank/financial recovery cases, 173 MV Act cases, 9 matrimonial cases, 197 civil cases, 3,270 other criminal cases, and an impressive 84,913 pre-litigation cases.
A significant compensation amounting to Rs 28,26,24,091 was announced, reflecting the effective settlement of disputes and claims. This monumental effort involved the collaboration of various entities, including the Department of Justice, District Legal Services Authority, Taluk Legal Services Committees, Bar associations, and several government departments such as police, revenue, survey and mapping, insurance companies, banks, auditors, and other governmental bodies.
The successful organization of the National Lok Adalat demonstrates the efficiency and commitment of the involved authorities to resolve legal disputes promptly and amicably. It underscores the importance of such collaborative efforts in ensuring justice and relief to the public.
