Mangaluru: Mescom (Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd) has announced scheduled electricity outages across various areas in Mangaluru and its surroundings, owing to essential maintenance on key feeders and substations.
On April 26, emergency work on the 1182 Market Feeder from the Nehru Maidan Substation will result in a power cut from 9:30 am to 5 pm. Areas affected include Central Market, Jewellery Road, GHS Road, Balambhat Road, and nearby localities.
The Lalbagh Feeder from Mannagudde Substation will also undergo repairs the same day, causing outages from 9 am to 5:30 pm in Lalbagh, Mannagudde Hindi Prachar Samiti, and Brahmashree Narayan Guru Circle.
Additionally, the Moodubidire Substation will see major maintenance on its Beluwai, Aliyuru, and Shirthadi Feeders on April 26. Power will be disrupted from 9:30 am to 6 pm in multiple rural and semi-urban areas, including Kan, Beluwai, Nadigudde, Karyanangadi, Pelakunje, and surrounding villages.
On April 27, the Baikampadi Power Distribution Centre will carry out urgent maintenance on the 11 kV BPCL Feeder from 9 am to 4 pm. This will impact industries and commercial zones like Elite Engineering, United Beverages, Deal Well, Marine Food, Asho Quick Industries, Abhay Marbles, and more.
