Mangaluru: In a major breakthrough in the Puttur student pregnancy case, police have arrested Jaganivasa Rao, the father of the prime accused, for allegedly helping his son evade arrest.

Krishna J Rao, the main suspect in the case that has drawn intense public and media scrutiny, had been on the run since June 24. After an extensive manhunt, he was finally nabbed by police in Mysuru earlier today.
