Mangaluru: In connection with the alleged cheating of a young woman under the pretext of marriage by the son of BJP leader Jagannivas Rao, K. P. Nanjundi, the State President of Akhil Karnataka Vishwakarma Mahasabha, visited the victim’s residence in Puttur and extended support to her and her family.
Speaking to the media after meeting the woman and her mother, Nanjundi said the Vishwakarma community will stand by the girl’s family to ensure she receives justice. He offered emotional support and emphasized that the situation should not be escalated using money, power, or threats.
“This is a matter between two young hearts. Mistakes have been made in the enthusiasm of youth. Our goal is not punishment but reconciliation,” he said. Nanjundi added that the child born from the relationship is innocent and adorable, and urged both families to come together, setting aside ego and social prestige, to build a future for the young couple.
“We are not seeking imprisonment or punishment for the boy. We want both of them to live a peaceful life together. I will speak to the boy’s family and try to unite the two. I believe things can be resolved positively,” he stated.
