Bantwal: To strengthen public confidence and reinforce law and order in Dakshina Kannada district, the Rapid Action Force (RAF), in coordination with local police, conducted a route march on Sunday across various sensitive zones under the jurisdiction of Bantwal Town and Rural Police Stations.
In the Bantwal Town limits, the march passed through key locations such as Thumbay Junction, Panemangalore, Shanty Market, B.C. Road, and other high-footfall areas. Police personnel were seen walking in formation, displaying a visible presence aimed at deterring any potential disturbances and reassuring the public.
Simultaneously, a similar exercise was carried out in Bantwal Rural Police Station areas, covering Farangipete, Kampanmajalu, Ammemar, and surrounding regions. These route marches are part of a proactive policing strategy designed to prevent anti-social activities and ensure readiness in handling any untoward incidents.
Officials stated that such coordinated marches between RAF units and local police will continue periodically in various parts of the district as a confidence-building measure and a show of preparedness.
