Konkani Natak Sabha® Mangaluru will stage a religious drama titled “Bhavadthachem Zaith” on Sunday, March 8, offering audiences an evening of spiritual reflection through theatre.
The programme will begin at 6:00 PM at Don Bosco Hall, Mangaluru, and entry is free for all.
Faith-based drama highlighting spiritual themes
The drama is expected to present a powerful faith-oriented narrative, blending religious themes with the expressive tradition of Konkani theatre. Such productions have long played a significant role in strengthening cultural identity and communicating spiritual values through performing arts.
The play is being organised under the banner of Konkani Natak Sabha, a well-known cultural organisation that has consistently promoted Konkani theatre and community-based stage productions.
Participation of artists and speakers
The programme will feature a team of artists and organisers involved in bringing the production to life. Several members of the theatre community and well-wishers are expected to attend the event.
The organisers have extended an open invitation to members of the public, theatre enthusiasts and the Konkani-speaking community to witness the performance.
Preserving Konkani theatre tradition
Konkani drama has a rich legacy in coastal Karnataka, particularly in Mangaluru and surrounding regions, where theatre continues to be an important platform for artistic expression and community engagement.
Through productions such as Bhavadthachem Zaith, organisers aim to encourage appreciation for Konkani language, culture and faith-inspired storytelling.
The organisers expressed hope that the community will attend the performance in large numbers and support the continuing tradition of Konkani religious theatre.
