The area near the municipal drinking water pump house in Eshwar Nagar, Manipal, has become a hotspot for accidents, especially during weekends, with multiple incidents occurring in recent weeks. The latest accident took place late Saturday night when an Udupi-registered car lost control at midnight and veered into a ditch near the pump house. Four passengers were in the vehicle at the time, but fortunately, no major injuries were reported.
The Manipal police swiftly arrived at the scene and assisted in retrieving the car from the ditch. This incident follows a similar mishap just a week ago when another car fell into the same spot, raising concerns among residents.
