A 69-year-old retired BSNL employee, Satish Kumar K M, has been arrested for allegedly trying to murder his neighbor by deliberately crashing his car into his motorcycle. The incident, which is linked to a long-standing feud, took place at 6th Main Road, Bejai Kapikad, around 8:15 am on March 13.
The victim, Murali Prasad, was riding his motorcycle (KA-19-Y-5145) when Satish Kumar, waiting in his car (KA-19-P-2570), allegedly accelerated and rammed into him. The collision also injured a pedestrian woman, who suffered bleeding injuries. Murali Prasad sustained injuries and is receiving medical treatment.
The police revealed that Satish Kumar had a prior case against him in 2023 for verbally abusing and colliding with Murali Prasad’s father.
Authorities have seized the accused’s vehicle and taken him into custody. He faces attempted murder charges at Urwa police station, while a separate negligent driving case has been registered at Mangaluru Traffic West police station.
Following his court appearance, he has been remanded to judicial custody.
