Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Traffic Police have issued an update regarding ongoing road development activities. Asphalting work is set to begin on the stretch connecting KIOCL Junction to Panambur Junction on Wednesday, August 7. The initiative involves laying fresh bitumen to repair potholes and enhance driving conditions on the busy route.
Simultaneously, maintenance operations will take place on the Surathkal–Nanthoor section from August 7 to 13. The work will be conducted between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, as well as during night hours, to minimize daytime disruption. Tasks include filling potholes, surface patching, and drainage clearance, all aimed at ensuring smoother and safer traffic flow.
To accommodate the repairs, traffic diversions will be implemented in the affected zones. Commuters are encouraged to plan alternative routes and comply with temporary signs and directions issued by traffic personnel on duty.
Authorities have urged the public to extend their support and understanding during the repair period. While acknowledging the short-term inconvenience, officials emphasized that the effort is part of a broader plan to upgrade city infrastructure and improve the overall commuting experience for motorists.
The traffic department remains committed to ensuring minimal disruption while the roadworks are in progress and requests citizens to drive cautiously through work zones.
