Mangaluru: The Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM), Mangaluru branch, was held on August 20, 2025, at Hotel Ocean Pearl Inn, Bejai. The meeting saw the election of new office bearers for the 2025–27 term and included a leadership training session for members.

New leadership team elected

At the meeting, Satish Satyanarayana, General Manager of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), was elected as the branch chairman for the next two years.

Other office bearers elected include:

  • Kethan Sanghvi – Vice Chairman

  • Anom Sontakke – Secretary

  • Alisha Mary Philip – Treasurer

  • Ajaybahadur Shelke and K Channayya – Executive Committee Members

  • Philip C C – National Council Member

  • Shekhar Pujari – Immediate Past Chairman

  • In addition, Kumar Arijit, Mandar V Kale, and Suresh Kumar J were elected as committee members, further strengthening the organisational framework.

    Leadership training for members

    The event also featured a leadership training session conducted by P M Biddappa, National Senior Vice President of IIMM India, and Sreenivas Rao from IIMM Bengaluru. The session aimed to equip members with advanced skills in materials management and supply chain leadership, underlining IIMM’s commitment to professional development.

    Strengthening industry connections

    The newly elected chairman, Satish Satyanarayana, emphasised the importance of bridging academia and industry, fostering innovation, and ensuring the highest standards in materials management. He highlighted plans for workshops, training programmes, and collaborative events to advance the profession.
