Mangaluru: The continuous rainfall is expected to persist, prompting the weather department to issue a red alert for the Dakshina Kannada district. Consequently, the district administration has announced that the holiday will extend to Friday as well. On June 28 (Friday), Anganwadi centres, primary schools, high schools, and PU colleges will remain closed. However, degree and PG colleges will function as usual. To recall, on Thursday (June 26), educational institutions remained closed due to heavy rainfall.

Deputy Commissioner of Udupi, Dr. K. Vidyakumari, has clarified that there will be no holiday for schools and colleges in Udupi on Friday (June 28) despite the red alert issued for the district.
