Mangaluru : Deputy Commissioner Mullai Mugilan has announced a holiday for schools and colleges in Mangaluru, Mulki, Ullal, Moodbidri, and Bantwal taluks on Tuesday, July 4, due to heavy rainfall affecting these areas.
The District Disaster Management Authority, under the authorization of DC Mugilan, has issued an order declaring a holiday for all Anganwadi centers, primary and high schools, pre-university colleges, government-aided, and private educational institutions on July 4.
Furthermore, precautions have been advised to the public to mitigate risks associated with the ongoing heavy rains. Parents are urged to ensure that children avoid low-lying areas, water bodies, riverbanks, and beaches.
Fishermen are cautioned against venturing into the sea. District and taluk level officials have been instructed to remain at their central offices and adhere strictly to disaster management protocols. Nodal officers designated by the district administration are required to stay vigilant round the clock, promptly address public grievances, and maintain constant communication with the DC office’s control room.
Tourists are advised to refrain from visiting riverbanks and beaches. Relevant department officials are directed to establish grievance centers in every taluk and be prepared to manage any emergent situations.
