Deputy Commissioner Darshan HV has urged citizens to actively take part in the self-enumeration process for Census 2026, emphasising the importance of accurate and inclusive data collection.
The self-enumeration drive will be conducted from April 1 to April 15, 2026, through the official online portal, allowing residents to conveniently submit their household details from their homes.
Easy and accessible process
Authorities have highlighted that the digital platform is designed to make participation simple and efficient. Citizens can log in, fill in their demographic and household information, and ensure their details are correctly recorded without waiting for physical visits by enumerators.
Officials noted that accurate participation will help avoid discrepancies and ensure proper representation of all communities.
Key step for future planning
The Deputy Commissioner stressed that comprehensive data collected through Census 2026 will play a crucial role in governance, policy-making, and allocation of resources. From infrastructure development to welfare schemes, census data forms the backbone of planning at both state and national levels.
Citizens have been encouraged to complete the process within the stipulated timeline and assist others who may face difficulties accessing the portal.
The initiative marks a significant move towards transparent governance, leveraging digital tools to improve efficiency and public participation.
