Mangaluru: The highly anticipated historical drama Shivaji, directed by Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, will be performed in Kateel on March 6 and Town Hall, Mangaluru, on March 13.
Blending Kannada, Tulu, and Hindi, the play is written by Shashiraj Kavoor, with music by Manikanth Kadri. The title song will be in Kannada, while the dialogues will be predominantly in Tulu.
Powerful Cast and Storyline
Acclaimed theatre artist Preethesh Ballalbagh, renowned for his role as Guliga in Shivaduthe Gulige, will take on the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The screenplay is crafted by Pramod Maravanthe and Shashiraj Kavoor.
Actor Pruthvi Ambar lends his voice to Shivaji’s character, while Naveen D Padil voices Gurudadaji. Celebrated artists Dr. Devdas Kapikad and Patla Satish Shetty have contributed their voices to the drama’s songs.
Speaking about the play, director Vijay Kumar Kodialbail stated, “Shivaji was a protector of Hinduism, but he never disrespected other religions. Understanding his full story will reveal his true, tolerant nature. We urge people to witness this play to gain a broader perspective on his legacy.”
