Dakshina Kannada – The inquiry into the high-profile Sujatha Bhat case has been officially transferred to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), according to a statement from the District Superintendent of Police.

The development follows widespread media reports questioning the authenticity of claims regarding the identity of Bhat’s daughter, leading to intensified scrutiny of the case.

Sujatha Bhat had filed a complaint at Dharmasthala police station on July 15, regarding the mysterious circumstances surrounding her daughter’s alleged disappearance. The case, registered under number 175/PTN/DPS/2025, had remained under local investigation until now.

Following directives from the Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG & IGP), the SIT will now handle further investigations, ensuring a more comprehensive and impartial probe.
