Frustrated by the ongoing excavation of the road between Kaikamba and Skandanagar, residents have taken to displaying sarcastic banners to draw attention to the issue. The road has been repeatedly dug up for projects like cable and water pipeline installation, but after each excavation, the drainage systems are removed, and the work remains incomplete, leaving the road in a deplorable condition.
Despite multiple requests and memorandums to local authorities, no action has been taken. Residents have also expressed disappointment with the local MLA, accusing him of only visiting during election seasons to seek votes and failing to address their concerns.
To highlight the situation, the residents put up banners with biting humor. One banner reads, “As a black magician informed us that there is treasure at the Kaikamba-Skandanagar stretch, the government decided to excavate the road to find it. Riders are advised to drive slowly.” Another reads, “PWD officials are asleep; riders are advised to go slow.”
The residents are urging officials and elected representatives to take immediate action, as the narrow, unsafe road has become a growing hazard for commuters.
