Mangaluru: Jyoti Raj, famously known as ‘Kothi Raju’ or the ‘Spiderman of Karnataka,’ stunned onlookers by scaling Karinja Hill, one of Dakshina Kannada’s tallest peaks, on Sunday. Despite the sweltering heat, he reached the hilltop Karinjeshwara Temple in just 30 minutes, climbing the massive 350-foot rock face with remarkable speed and agility.

The crowd erupted in applause as Raj swiftly navigated the sun-scorched hillside. On Saturday, he took an hour to practise, but on Sunday, he cut the time in half, impressing spectators with his unmatched climbing skills.

Beyond his daredevil feats, Raj is deeply involved in social service. He runs a trust for underprivileged communities and has appealed for financial support to expand his efforts. Inspired by an online Shivaratri video, he decided to take on the Karinja climb after receiving numerous requests.

Raj also hopes to train young athletes and establish a dedicated sports club. His vision includes acquiring two acres of land to develop training facilities, for which he seeks public support.
