Mangaluru: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, celebrated its College Day with a vibrant event on campus. The event was graced by Shri Melwyn Prakash Noronha, Principal, District Government Pleader, Christian Marriage Registrar & Notary, as the Chief Guest. Rev. Fr. Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Director of SJEC, presided over the celebrations.
Recognising Excellence
The event began with Dr. Rio D’Souza, Principal of SJEC, presenting the annual report, highlighting the institution’s achievements in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities. Dr. Purshottama Chippar, Vice Principal, introduced the Chief Guest and welcomed the gathering.
The Chief Guest and the Director presented awards to students and faculty members for their academic excellence and sports achievements. University rank holders and faculty accomplishments were also honoured.
Inspiring Addresses
📢 Shri M. P. Noronha encouraged students to focus on knowledge, skills, and attitude, calling it the “real triangle of success.” He praised the faculty for bringing out the best in students and urged students to embrace positivity despite challenges.
📢 Rev. Fr. Wilfred Prakash D’Souza highlighted that education is beyond textbooks and exams, emphasizing that success is truly meaningful when it uplifts others. He urged students to cultivate gratitude and resilience in their journey.
Cultural Extravaganza
The formal event was followed by a spectacular cultural program, where students showcased their talents in music and dance. A thrilling performance by the band “Diamonds & Rust” captivated the audience.
The program was seamlessly hosted by Mr. Aldrin Sean Periera and Ms. Shiji Abraham, while Jaden D’Souza and Deona Rego compered the cultural segment.
