Moodbidri, September 17, 2025: A 22-year-old student died of a suspected heart attack while trekking at Konajekallu hill near Moodbidri on Wednesday morning.
Victim identified
The deceased has been identified as Manoj N. (22), son of Gopalakrishna Bhat from Bettampady Nadavadka, Irde village in Puttur taluk. He was a final-year Chartered Accountancy student in Mangaluru.
Incident details
According to police sources, Manoj had gone trekking along with his friend Karthik (22), a resident of Adoor, Kerala. Both were pursuing CA studies in Mangaluru. While climbing the hill, Manoj reportedly suffered a heart attack, lost his balance and slipped, leading to his immediate death.
Police confirmation
Local authorities confirmed that the death occurred on the spot. His friend Karthik alerted locals, who in turn informed the police. The body was later shifted for post-mortem examination.
