Sullia: Sullia police have seized a pickup vehicle allegedly transporting sand without a valid permit and registered a case in connection with the incident on Tuesday night.

The action was taken during a patrol near Arambur on the Mani-Mysuru Road, where police intercepted the vehicle and found sand being transported without the required documentation.

Vehicle intercepted during night patrol

Sub-inspector Uday Ravi M Y of Sullia police station was on patrol duty along with police personnel when they noticed and intercepted the pickup vehicle near Arambur.

During the inspection, officers found that the vehicle was carrying sand. Police questioned the driver regarding the transportation and sought details of the required permit.

The driver was identified as Ajaruddin P H, 28, a resident of Peraje village.

According to police, the driver admitted that he did not possess a valid permit to transport the sand.

Police seize vehicle and register case

Following the inspection, Sullia police seized the pickup vehicle and registered a case at Sullia police station.

The incident highlights the enforcement measures being taken by police against the unauthorised transportation of sand in the region. Transportation of sand requires compliance with applicable regulations and possession of the necessary permits.
